Alice in Wonderland
Alice in Wonderland was written by British novelist Lewis Carroll in 1865. The story focuses on Alice, the eponymous protagonist, who follows a white rabbit down a rabbit hole and the adventures she has thereafter. Alice encounters many characters like the Cheshire cat, the duchess with a piglet, the mad Hatter, the hookah-smoking caterpillar, the gryphon, the March Hare and the Knave of hearts. Carroll’s vivid imagination and description led the novel to become one of the most loved tales among children as well as adults. The colourful imagery included in the story will help children develop a visual as well as a linguistic perception of language.
